Invisalign® is custom-made clear aligners that fit comfortably on your teeth and gradually move them to their ideal position. On average, you will change your aligners weekly. This is dependent on my recommendations.
Invisalign® treatment is usually completed within 5 months once your first aligner is fitted.
There will be some temporary tightness initially when placing in a new Invisalign® aligner. It will feel like pressure.
It’s a sign that the aligners are working and it usually goes away in a couple of days.
Teeth whitening is included for free with Invisalign® treatment of dual arch treatment It can be added to single arch treatment as an extra.
After Invisalign® treatment, some patients may require some reshaping of teeth. This can be completed by edge re-contouring, edge bonding or composite veneers.
This is all case dependent and will be discussed fully at your assessment appointment.
Retainers are like your Invisalign® clear aligners, however they do not move your teeth. They hold your straightened teeth in their new position. Your teeth will always want to move back to their original position without retainers.
Free removable retainers are provided with all Invisalign® treatment.
Current evidence reports a fixed retainer, which is a slim bar on the back of your teeth, can help keep your teeth straighter for longer.
Retainers are to be worn for life to prevent your teeth from moving.
